It´s not much of a point to miss, really.
The title is just to underline the fact that my engine finally has "come to life" after a long period as a static model.

Unfortunately, progress has been close to zero lately, but I hope that will soon change.

I agree. There seem to be blogs about everything everywhere and there are but two or three fourms and nobody really blogs. Railroaders/railfans/modelers are not the biggest internet talkers as a whole, I guess.

Hi there, I agree...there seem to be only a few model railroad blogs out there. I have created a blog on my B&M layout at www.bostonandmaine.blogspot.com as well as a blog on our train operating group at www.fridaynightgroup.blogspot.com where you can read about our operating sessions and see the action in the images posted. From this last blog you will find some links to other railroad blogs.

Dear Havard,

For several years, I have been working on a documentary about the Harvey Girls called “Opportunity Bound”, which tells how over 150,000 young women left home and went to work as waitresses along the transcontinental railroad. These Harvey Girls, as they were called, helped open the doors of the workplace to women.

“Opportunity Bound” recently received sponsorship from KOCE, Orange County’s PBS station. After national PBS broadcast, “Opportunity Bound” will tour to railroad museums through out the country. Despite sponsorship from PBS, I have had difficulty obtaining funding for this important project, and time is running out… the remaining Harvey Girls are in their 80’s and 90’s!

If you have any leads to corporate sponsors and/or individual donors interested in making a tax-deductible contribution to this important film, please contact me.

You can visit my website to see a trailer of the film:

Best Wishes,
Katrina
